K-pop boy band to perform at Wembley

This weekend, British fans are expected to go wild at London’s Wembley Stadium where Korean boy group BTS will perform twice for the first time among K-pop acts.

More than 100,000 fans are likely to greet the seven-piece boy band with high-pitched screams at two sold-out concerts on July 1 and 2.

Before headlining the iconic London venue in northwest London, the idol group appeared at the fourth live semi-final of Britain’s Got Talent on May 30.

It is a televised talent show competition broadcast on ITV where participants audition for the show with their talent. They seek to impress judges to qualify for the live episodes.

“We’re really happy to be back, it’s our first live show here in the U.K. We’re really honored to be here,” said BTS leader RM, who is the only fluent English speaker among the members.

“See you at Wembley.”

BTS, otherwise known as the Bangtan Boys, scored its first U.K. number one last month when its latest studio album “Map of the Soul: Persona” was released.

BTS shows at Wembley, which seats around 90,000, sold out within 90 minutes after ticket sales started.

For those who failed to buy tickets, Korean portal site Naver plans to live-stream the concert on its streaming service called V Live.

And it is not free – it will cost some $28 to see the live-streamed concert and replay it later on V Live.

BTS is now on a globe-trotting stadium tour, which started in May in the United States. After finishing the U.K. concerts, the band will move to Paris before taking a flight to Japan.

The “Love Yourself: Speak Yourself” tour attracts people across the globe.
