H2Korea holds webinar along with Columbia government
South Korea's H2Korea announced on Nov. 23 that it had held a webinar event with the Colombian government to beef up the cooperation between the two countries in the hydrogen areas.More than 50 representatives of the two countries’ government organizations and corporations took part in the offline event.“I welcome this hydrogen cooperation webinar, which takes place when Korea strives to grow global leading hydrogen business and Columbia stresses the energy transition to deal with climate change,” H2Korea Chairman Moon Jae-do said in a congratulatory speech.“This forum will mark the first step for the two nations to cooperate in the hydrogen sectors.”Korean Ambassador to Colombia Choo Jong-youn from Korea expected that Korea and Colombia would become good partners for the hydrogen segment.“Colombia came up with a hydrogen roadmap last year. The country also designated 10 projects to promote the hydrogen industry,” Choo said.“The cooperation of the two countries in hydrogen is very promising. Today’s webinar would help create networks of experts.”Colombian Hydrogen Association President Camilo Uribe presented the hydrogen business of the country and its future strategy.H2Korea is South Korea’s state-backed outfit geared toward supporting the hydrogen economy _ using hydrogen to decarbonize economic sectors that are hard to electrify.Midway through this year, almost 20 organizations from across the world formed a global organization called the Global Hydrogen Industrial Association Alliance (GHIAA).The alliance is aimed at establishing a new ecosystem focusing on hydrogen. H2Korea chief Moon was elected to head the GHIAA for the next two years.Moon worked for the country’s industry ministry and headed the state-run Korea Trade Insurance Corporation.이 기사를 공유합니다
