Bilateral cooperation with Korea lasted 60 years
The 92nd anniversary of the Saudi Unification of the Kingdom was commemorated in a downtown hotel in Seoul late last week, which was arranged in a seat-down dinner frame.
Rather than a usual reception, the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia focused on NEOM publicity, “A vision of what a new future might look like,” including ever-growing partnerships between Korea and Saudi Arabia whose diplomatic ties were merged 60 years ago in 1962.
“Sept. 23 of every year brings the memory of a glorious day in our national history where the founding His Majesty King Abdulaziz bin Abdul Rahman Al Saud had unified the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,” Saudi Amb. Sami M. Alsadhan said.
“With such a precious national occasion every year, the National Day is an important landmark in the history of modern Saudi Arabia. We celebrate and remember with pride, deep appreciation and dignity, the efforts and sacrifices made by our ancestors in building, developing and serving the Kingdom.”
He also praised the strategic, friendly, and cooperative relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Korea.
Throughout a long history, the two countries have witnessed a qualitative leap and great development in various fields, including politics, military, economy, education, culture, intellectual property, information technology, and health.
In fact, bilateral cooperation has been enhanced and extended vastly to improve the relationship between the two countries, according to the Saudi envoy.
Minister Won Hee-ryong of Land, Infrastructure and Transport who was invited as a guest honor on behalf of the Korean government to deliver the government’s congratulatory message, congratulated the National Day.
“With its slogan, ‘It is our Home,’ in recognition of the leadership’s willingness to invest all national resources to serve the country and its citizens, the Kingdom’s ‘Vision 2030’ was announced with its national contents, development, and future plans in order to diversify sources of income, increase the efficiency of government performance, and to modernize regulations and administrative structure,” he said.
Marking the beginning of a new phase of development and the hard work for a better future, “Vision 2030” aims to keep cooperating with developed countries and achieve a comprehensive development to employ the Kingdom’s potentials and its energy by utilizing the Kingdom’s strategic location.
As a result of this vision, economic and social reforms have been bearing fruits and the Kingdom has been emerging as one of the most attractive economic destinations in the world, according to the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia.

According to the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia, the NEOM initiative is an attempt to do something that’s never been done before, and it’s coming at a time when the world needs fresh thinking and new solutions.
Simply put, NEOM will be a destination, a home for people who dream big and want to be part of building a new model for sustainable living, working, and prospering, according to the embassy.
