Tech giant takes center stage at CES 2024
Merck announced on Jan. 8 that the company would demonstrate its innovative technologies and materials to create next-generation chips at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2024 in Las Vegas.
In time with the annual tech fair set to start on Jan. 9 for a four-day run, Merck expected that such next-generation chips would power artificial intelligence and other key megatrends.
Merck appears to have a right to speak up about such futuristic industries as its semiconductor and display materials have been used in almost all modern electronic devices in the world.
Kai Beckmann, a member of the Executive Board of Merck and CEO Electronics, said that the corporation would push the boundaries of science and technology to make future trends like AI possible.
With the aim of accelerating the development of technologies facilitating and enriching everyday life, he vowed that the tech giant would offer material intelligence.
“Our customers use our material intelligence to produce the most advanced computer chips,” he said.
“With our display and semiconductor solutions, we enable the electronic devices consumers know and love, such as the newest and most advanced mobile phones, and processing units empowering AI applications such as ChatGPT.”
Included among the major customers of Merck are Korean enterprises such as Samsung Electronics, Samsung Display, SK hynix, and LG Display, the global powerhouses in chips and displays.
Merck’s senior officials are scheduled to share their insights and recent trends in detail at various events of the CES 2024.
On the morning of Jan. 10, Merck’s Chief Science and Technology Officer Laura Matz will take part in a panel discussion, titled “The Hard Part of AI: Hardware and Chips.”
In the afternoon of the day, Katherine Dei Cas, Executive Vice President and Global Head of Delivery Systems & Services, will join a panel discussion with policymakers and business leaders.
She is poised to propose actionable strategies to empower women in tech and promote gender representation in the industry.
The venue for the former is North Level n250, while that of the latter is Grand Lobby, CTA Stage, both at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
At its booth, Merck also plans to bring together industry leaders and entrepreneurs from start-ups to forge critical connections and showcase cutting-edge demos.
The meet-up will take place between 12 and 2 p.m. at booth No. 9105, which is located at the North Hole of the Las Vegas Convention Center, according to Merck.
