The Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) announced on Nov. 27 that it will co-host the 9th Korea-Czech Future Forum with the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Korea.

KAIST noted that the event would take place on Nov. 28 at the Lotte Hotel in Sogong-dong, Seoul.

The forum follows significant developments in September when President Yoon Suk-yeol’s official visit to the Czech Republic strengthened the strategic partnership between the two nations.

This partnership includes multiple MOUs between government and private institutions, spanning sectors such as nuclear energy, trade, investment, infrastructure, transportation, tourism, culture, and science and technology.

Notably, the collaboration emphasizes workforce development in nuclear energy, as well as research efforts in ICT, AI, quantum technologies, and nanotechnology.

The Korea-Czech Future Forum, now in its ninth iteration, has been held annually since 2015, except for 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, alternating between the two countries.

It serves as a platform for prominent figures from both nations to discuss long-term visions and actionable strategies for bilateral cooperation, with key recommendations conveyed to the governments of both countries, according to KAIST.

KAIST says that This year’s forum will feature expert presentations and discussions on various topics.

Included in them will be nuclear energy collaboration as well as advanced technology investment opportunities in robotics, AI, and semiconductors.

Additionally, a business meeting with representatives from Doosan Enerbility and other nuclear energy companies in the Changwon region is planned.
