South Korea’s top-tier refiner S-OIL announced on Nov. 17 that it has signed an integrated IT outsourcing (ITO) agreement with Samsung SDS, the country’s leading system integrator.

The signing ceremony took place on Nov. 14 at S-OIL’s headquarters in Seoul, attended by senior executives from both companies, including S-OIL President Ryu Yul and Samsung SDS CEO Lee June-hee.

Under the contract, Samsung SDS will serve as S-OIL’s integrated ITO service provider for three years starting in March 2026.

The company will oversee application and IT infrastructure operations, security management, IT diagnostics, and cloud-transition consulting.

Through the partnership, S-OIL said that it would strengthen the stability and efficiency of its IT service operations, while building a more robust governance framework supported by advanced technologies and enhanced cybersecurity infrastructure.

S-OIL expects the collaboration to accelerate IT modernization and support the creation of a forward-looking digital ecosystem.

The company views the agreement as an essential foundation for boosting competitiveness in IT service management and speeding up broader digital innovation across its operations.

“This integrated ITO agreement with Samsung SDS marks an important first step in S-OIL’s digital transformation journey,” President Ryu said.

“We expect the partnership to maximize the stability and efficiency of our IT service operations and enhance our ability to respond to fast-changing business conditions.”
