Dinner reception attracts diplomats, business leaders
The Omani Embassy in South Korea recently held the Middle East country’s 2025 National Day reception in Seoul last week, hosted by Amb. Zakariya Al Saadi.
During the event, the diplomat said that Omanis have stood together as an impregnable fortress guided by enlightened principles throughout history.
During the annual celebration, Amb. Al Saadi noted that this glorious National Day also marks a celebration of the journey of the Sultanate of Oman and the progress realized since the dawn of the Renaissance in 1970.
This transformative era, established by the late His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, continues proudly today under the wise leadership of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, according to the diplomat.
The event was attended by diplomats, Oman-related business leaders, academics, and media representatives.
The ambassador said that his country’s renewed vision strikes a careful balance between authenticity and modernity, laying a solid foundation for greater prosperity, resilience, and long-term sustainability.
Turning to bilateral relations between Korea and Oman, the envoy emphasized that the two countries share a distinguished model of friendship and cooperation founded on mutual respect and shared interests.
A spokesperson from the Embassy of Oman added that the year 2025 witnessed steady growth in the trajectory of relations between the two nations, driven by mutual trust and a shared commitment to prosperity and sustainability.
This was evident in increased diplomatic momentum through exchanges of official visits and the strengthening of political and economic consultation channels.
Economically, the partnership maintained constructive growth. Bilateral trade exceeded $5.66 billion, while Korean investments expanded across strategic sectors—including energy, green hydrogen, and infrastructure—aligning closely with the goals of Oman Vision 2040.
Reflecting on bilateral achievements, 2025 also saw tangible progress in green hydrogen initiatives, with robust Korean participation that highlights both nations’ shared commitment to leading the global transition toward clean energy, the ambassador added.
Cultural and tourism cooperation also flourished through joint events, exhibitions, and cultural programs that further strengthened the bonds between the peoples of Oman and Korea, according to the Embassy.
