Korean lender will support Korean baseball league through 2037
South Korea's Shinhan Bank announced on Nov. 24 that the lender would extend its official sponsorship of the Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) league through 2037.
The measure marks one of the longest-running partnerships in Korean professional sports.
Earlier this year, Shinhan Bank renewed its agreement with the KBO to run through 2027, and added another 10 years to its commitment this time.
With this extension, Shinhan Bank will support the KBO league for 20 consecutive years since first becoming a sponsor in 2018, setting a record for the longest sponsorship duration in South Korean pro sports history.
The bank stated that the extended partnership will allow it to strengthen collaboration with both the KBO and individual professional baseball teams.
This includes plans to develop new financial products connected to baseball culture and team branding, along with broader marketing initiatives that blend sports entertainment with everyday banking services.
Shinhan Bank also stressed its intention to continue supporting the future of Korean baseball by investing in youth development programs, maintaining its role as an official sponsor of the national baseball team.
"The unprecedented length of the partnership comes with a strong sense of responsibility," Shinhan Bank CEO Jung Sang-hyuk said.
"The bank will work to help advance the KBO league while creating new and memorable experiences for fans."
